Retirement Plan Consultant

Position Summary: 

We are searching for strong candidates who have extensive experience in the 401(k) industry, preferably in customer service or plan administration. This role’s primary focus will be centered around developing and nurturing relationships with existing clients on the Retirement Plan Services side of our business.

The ideal candidate for this position exemplifies the highest customer service standards and habitually demonstrates initiative by taking a proactive approach to servicing clients.

Further, they should exhibit strong interpersonal and group communication skills with proven ability to present to executives and board members as they will be your primary audience.

Job Functions:

The Retirement Plan Consultant position is predicated upon a strong fundamental understanding of 401(k) Plan Administration, Investment Management and Relationship Management.

  • Foster strong relationships to promote client satisfaction and retention with a high degree of integrity and personal accountability.
  • Engage and retain clients through inbound calls and follow-up outbound calls, e-mail, and other approved communication methods.
  • Drive client success and participant outcomes by performing annual plan reviews, group and individual education for participants, and swiftly addressing any questions or concerns from the client regarding their retirement plan offering.
  • Effectively utilize customer relationship management database (Salesforce) to maintain accurate records, tasks, calendars, deliverables, and pipelines for all prospects and clients.
  • Collaborate regularly with the investment team to thoroughly understand our investment philosophy/capabilities and be able to present them effectively to our clients and prospects.
  • Remain current in professional licenses and industry trends.
  • Successfully complete regulatory and job training requirements.

Required Skills:

  • Industry licenses: Series 7, 63, and/or 65, 66
  • 3+ years of client-facing 401(k) industry experience
  • Proven success as a relationship manager, retirement plan consultant, account executive, 401(k) sales representative, customer service specialist, etc.
  • Strong presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with Salesforce or other customer relationship management (CRM) database software is preferrable.
  • Effective at building and maintaining professional relationships.

Sales Coordinator

Position Summary: 

The sales associate position is an integral part of Beacon Financial Services' growth and new client engagement. In this role, team members are responsible for initiating communication with prospective clients and educating them on our various services. Candidates are also responsible for gathering, analyzing and optimizing sales data to ensure ongoing and effective marketing outreach. This role is one that requires skill, determination and the ability to effectively forge interpersonal connections. The ideal candidate must be able to keep up with the fast pace of our industry, must be self-motivated and must remain adaptable in the face of new changes and challenges.


  • 2-year degree required (or equivalent work experience), 4-year degree preferred

  • Undergraduate major in business, finance, marketing or related field

  • Prior sales experience preferred but not required

  • Proficiency in written and spoken communication, including telephone, email and in-person meetings

  • Previous experience in an office environment strongly encouraged

  • Sales-driven personality and a competitive nature

  • Competent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access)

  • Basic, fundamental understanding of the finance industry
